Carnac and its standing stones
Carnac is a very in-demand seaside resort in the South of Morbihan. With its beautiful, fine sand, beaches, its many aquatic activities and lively town centre, you can spend a very pleasant day there among family and friends.
Carnac is also famous throughout the world for its standing stones, or “menhir” in Breton. There are three thousand standing upright across the moor, drawing 1km-long lines. They make up one of the most extraordinary concentrations of standing stones in the world. Alongside, you can find the Saint-Michel tumulus and the giant of Manio, a stone standing at 6.5m.
You can also visit the Carnac Prehistoric Museum to uncover the secret behind these stone alignments…
